How can you help?
Get involved with Streets People Love Hobart! Volunteer, write, share, or donate to help create safer streets.

Website Editing/Computer Duties
- Add "Who we are" and "Contact us" pages to website.
- Design posters/stickers/flyers/business cards
- Post about SPLH on your social media accounts
- Upload photos of noteworthy content here. Streets, traffic, enjoyable places, bikes, pedestrians, you in your SPLH t-shirt, anything you think might be relatable.
Article Writing
- Write an article about how SPLH is a long term initiative. Campaigning for Collins Street will not stop once the trial is in place and that more work is needed during and after the trial period.
- Write a “Letter to the Editor” in The Mercury about your experience commuting outside of a car – Walking, Public Transport, Riding a Bike, Scooters, Wheelchairs. Anything. Link here. Share a copy with [email protected].
- Write an article that can be shared by SPLH. This can be a one off with/without credit given to the author.
In-Person Volunteering
- Take photos of noteworthy content for SPLH to use. Intersections, speed limits, bicycles, footpaths or anything else that may be useful. Upload here.
- Wear your SPLH t-shirts, post photos with them.
- Handing out fliers and doing letterbox drop-offs
- Talk to businesses, get their agreement to endorse us and let us place their logo as a supporter on our website, free of charge.
- Talk to your friends, colleagues, politicians about SPLH and the Collins Streets bike lanes and public meeting. Introduce them to SPLH and encourage them to get in touch if they would like to help.
- Help at our booth at the Sustainable Living Tasmania - The Big Day of Circular Living Ideas Expo on Saturday 22nd. If you can’t make this one, there will be more.
- Go to council meetings wearing a SPLH t-shirt.
- Get a video talking to a politician about SPLH and the Collins Streets bike lanes and public meeting.
If you like what we do, please reach out to us if you would like help. Many of these are one-offs that take 10 minutes or less, but go a long way. You can also make a donation through our GoFundMe or contact us about a tax deductable donation.
