Streets People Love Hobart Featured in The Mercury

We’re thrilled to share that Rob Inglis, a reporter from The Mercury, recently reached out to interview us about Streets People Love Hobart! It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our mission, our vision for Hobart’s streets, and the importance of providing diverse transport choices for everyone in our community.

Sharing Our Story

Dr. Anna Johnson, Anna Blake, and Mark Donnellon spoke with Rob about how our group was formed and what we aim to achieve. The core message was clear: Streets People Love Hobart is about creating safe, inclusive, and vibrant streets that work for everyone—whether you’re walking, cycling, rolling, or using other sustainable modes of transport.

Capturing the Spirit of Our Community

During our time with Rob, we took the opportunity to highlight the diversity of Hobart’s transport users with a community photo shoot. The images featured supporters from across the city, showcasing the many ways people move around Hobart:

  • Alan Butler, using a wheelchair.
  • Penelope Clark, carrying children on her cargo bike.
  • Rik Gunton, riding an e-skateboard.
  • Olivia Kay, with her baby in a pram.
  • And a fantastic group of people riding bikes, representing Hobart's growing cycling community.

These snapshots embody the inclusivity and accessibility that Streets People Love Hobart is working hard to promote.
